The cancellation of TAP flight 1695, scheduled to depart from Lisbon to Madeira at 1:25 p.m, generated several complaints, with many dissatisfied customers taking to social media to vent their frustrations at the last-minute notification and lack of information from the airline.
Although some passengers were later booked on the 17:23, 19:50, and 22:10 flights, others will have to wait until 23:25 before they can travel.
According to one of the passengers, TAP even promised to lay on an extra aircraft, which did not materialise, as the company simply used a bigger aircraft to try and accommodate the overspill.
Those left behind to wait for later flights were given food vouchers to quell further passenger dissatisfaction.
