A young man, apparently a boy, was seen walking around Caniço shopping before strolling into the town centre wearing a clown mask.
Dressed in dark clothes, the young man took no notice of passers-by or the commotion he was causing. However, on the 29th of July, JM reported that the Public Security Police (PSP), were on the trail of a group of four masked individuals, who were intent on scaring the local Funchal population at night.
The information given, was that one of the individuals had their face covered by a collar and a hood, while the other three were masked – two wearing clown masks and the third wearing an Anonymous Group (International activists and hacktivist collective) mask -.
