There was chaos and confusion at Lisbon Airport today, when a private jet appeared to just park up on the runway, blocking all air traffic.
During the incident flights were diverted to Porto and Faro, while passengers waiting to depart from Madeira International Airport, were astonished that this was the reason given for their flight delays.
The situation was clarified later on, as it appeared that the two tyres on the nose wheel, punctured during landing, leaving the aircraft stranded and imbolised.
Lisbon airport reopened at 19:00.
