The body of the man who fell yesterday 250 metres from Miradouro do Pináculo was retrieved from the sea early this morning, in a rescue mission that included 17 officers from the Madeiran Volunteer Firefighters (BVM) Rescue Team and five support vehicles.
The information was confirmed to local news outlet, JM, by the Captain of Port, and local commander of the Maritime Police of Funchal, Rui Manuel Teixeira, who added that to carry out the retrieval operation, and remove the body from the shoreline they had to use a boat.
So far, not much has been said as to why or how the fifty something man fell.
Our thoughts are with his family and friends.
