Today, while the President of Madeira, Miguel Albuquerque was visiting NC Madeira, he was asked by journalists if he was planning to remove the last pandemic safety measures, namely mandatory indoor mask wearing.
Responding, he said that it was still a little too soon to throw caution to the wind, especially as the island’s children had only just returned to school after the Easter break, and he would not make a decision until he was sure of all the facts.
Concluding he said, “at some point I will make this decision, but until then, I want to see how the pandemic continues to evolve.”
