A rescue operation is currently under way, at the Miradouro do Pináculo, by the Madeiran Volunteer Firefighters (BVM).
At the moment not much information is known, except that a several police officers arrived on the scene with rescue apparatus, as it is believed that someone had fallen from or at the viewpoint.
