The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in medicine is increasingly becoming a reality and one that the Regions Health Service is prepared to optimize in the future, namely in the fight against breast cancer.
Pedro Ramos, the Regional Secretary for Health and Civil Protection, recently took part in a presentation of the ‘National Study on the Economic and Psychosocial Impact of Breast Cancer in Portugal – an initiative of the Portuguese League against Cancer -,’ according to which, more than 7,000 new cases of breast cancer are diagnosed every year, with around 1,800 women dying from the disease.
