An earthquake registering 1.8 on the Richter Scale was recorded at 21.45 by the Portuguese Institute of Atmosphere and Sea (IPMA), on Saturday night off the Northeast coast of the Desertas.
Due to its low intensity, the earthquake would not have been felt.
