Bearing in mind that heavy rain is forecast for this weekend, the urban cleaning services of Funchal City Council, have over the last couple of days, been inspecting rivers and streams, and clearing them if necessary. This includes the cleaning of the river beds, removing invasive species and discarded rubbish.
Although public gutters and water run off’s have also been cleared, the CMF do ask that people look after their own water access points to prevent them from becoming blocked, and thus reducing the risk of localised flooding.
