Pedro Calado, a member of the PSD/M Political Commission and Mayor of Funchal confirms that he will run for president of the municipality of Funchal, and has said that he will support all the local parish municipalities provided they work and support local populations.
The candidacy announcement was made this morning during the PSD/Madeira Regional Council, in São Vicente, during which, Pedro Calado called for the party to unite, saying that nothing has been achieved, despite “having excellent electoral results in the last elections.” He went on to advise councilors to choose wisely for the next parish council elections, as there was not enough time to look at individuals, and that the party needed to be united in its service to the people.
