At 6 pm on the 31st of March, outside Quinta Vigia, the recently formed Regional Commission Against the Increase in Prices, will hold a protest against rising fuel prices in the Autonomous Region of Madeira.
In a press statement a spokesperson for the group said:
“With the increases in the prices of gasoline and diesel in Madeira and Porto Santo, greater difficulties are posed to the populations, and it is not just fuel prices, everything is going up and the Regional Government does not appear to be doing anything to prevent the regions social and economic problems from worsening. Therefore, it is time to take to the street and make our voices known.”
The Regional Commission Against Price Increases therefore asks all drivers to honk their horns in support as they drive past Quinta Vigia during the demonstration.
