Earth Hour Celebrations Take Place on The 26th of March

The City Council of Santa Cruz will celebrate Earth Hour on Saturday the 26th of March, by holding an hour long public lighting blackout of the town centre between 8.30 – 9.30 pm.

For the ninth consecutive year, the municipality of Santa Cruz joins the Portuguese Society for the Study of Birds (SPEA), in an effort to raise global environmental sustainability awareness, promoted by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).

The municipality invites all those interested in joining the initiative to stop using any electrical appliances during this time in both their homes and businesses.
