Valentyna Chan, after an audience with José Manuel Rodrigues (Legislative Assembly Deputy), said that so far, Madeira has already welcomed 280 Ukrainian refugees, but she expects many more to arrive.
The Madeira, Ukraine Association representative confirmed that the greatest need is accommodation, and asks that if anyone can help, to please register with the Regional Secretary for Social Inclusion and Citizenship. She also wanted to remind people that Madeira is not just Funchal, and that all areas of the island would be considered.
When asked about donations, she said that medicines and essential goods were what was required, not clothing.
I can confirm this, as I popped down to LOGISLINK this afternoon.
