Today marked the first anniversary of the Madeira Technopolo (Funchal Vaccination Centre).
A press statement, commemorating 360 days of service, read, “that throughout this time, various other special days were commemorated, including Mother’s Day, Easter and Christmas. The only time the centre closed, was over the Christmas break and the 1st of January. Other than that, the doors have remained open every day and often stayed open way beyond the official closing times.” As such, more than 500,000 vaccines have already been administered by the multidisciplinary team operating at the site.”
“From the day we opened” said team coordinator, nurse Ana Gouveia, “the vaccination team have remained united, positive and friendly. The global protection of the population was, and is, very important to us, and after 360 days we have contributed to Madeira’s 90% vaccination rate.
