Lisbon University Student Plots Mass Murder

An 18-year-old man was arrested today by the Judiciary Police (PJ), for the crime of plotting to commit the “largest possible number of murders” at the University of Lisbon.

According to CNN Portugal, the PJ received an alert from the FBI last week as part of the US authorities routine monitoring of the Internet, social networks and the dark web, in order to prevent terrorism.  During their checks a concerning conversation was flagged up, as it concerned a young Portuguese man who was bragging of his intention to commit mass murder on his university colleagues on the 12th of February.”

“The PJ quickly proceeded to monitor the student and, in conjunction with the Public Ministry, decided to proceed with a house search this morning.  During their raid, they found a detailed plan of the armed attack and a collection of weapons that he intended to use.
