New Vaccination Centre Schedules

Due to changes within the pandemic, Madeira’s vaccination centres are also changing their working hours.  According to a press released by Pedro Ramos, The Regional Secretary for Health and Civil Protection, the Funchal Vaccination Centre will close on Mondays (14th, 21st and 28th of February). In Machico, Santana and Calheta, all covid-19 vaccinations will take place at the municipality health centre.

Furthermore, the Regional Health Department has confirmed that all eligible children can make use of the ‘special’ vaccination times, however, if this is impossible, pediatric vaccinations can take place during the general sessions.

The press note also reminds everyone that in addition to vaccinating children, all booster jabs are available to those aged 18 and above.  All that is needed is a five month period between second and booster vaccination, or three months if you have recovered from the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
