Saturday Night Classical Orchestra of Madeira Performance

The Madeira Classical Orchestra will be performing at the Madeira Congress Centre on Saturday the 15th of January at 6 pm.

The concert, which was originally scheduled for the 14th of March 2020, will continue to celebrate the bi-centenary of Belgian composer and violinist Henry Vieuxtemps (17th February 1820 – 6th of June 1881)

Cellist Dmitry Silvian will be performing Concerto nº1 in A m Op. 46, for cello and orchestra by Henry Vieuxtemps.   Further pieces include Symphony No. 4 by Piotr Tchaikovsky.  The orchestra will be conducted for the first time by Nicolas Krauze.

Tickets for the event are available at the Gaudeamus Store at Colégio dos Jesuítas (next to Funchal City Hall), from Monday to Friday between 10:00 and 18:00. Prices range from €5 – €20.  Entry is free to all  students and trainees from the Conservatory-Escola Das Artes da Madeira upon presentation of their student card.
