The party in opposition in Funchal, PS, insists that Funchal needs its own police department, the Municipal Police, to deal with numerous safety issues in Town.
Their plan for this force, while they were in power, was to prevent and fight drug problems and improve security for all. The proposal has to be included into the 2022 budget of the city. The discussion is hot: opinions go from “important” to “a waste of money”.
