If you are looking to do something a little bit different, here is a brief list of some of the cultural events going on today.
– The emblematic parish of Curral das Freiras will celebrate the Chestnut Festival in a thoughtful way. A mass at 10:00 am in the parish church and the municipal band playing in the streets. A perfect time to enjoy chestnut soup and bread.
– Today is All Saints’ Day. The Bishop of Funchal, D. Nuno Brás will preside at the Mass, at 11:00 am, in the Sé.
– The 2nd Festival of Ancient Music in Funchal ends today, at 6 pm, at the Henrique e Francisco Franco Museum, with a concert featuring the participation of the Spanish violinist Marina Garcia-Bouso (baroque violin) and the Italian harpsichordist GianCarlo Mongelli.
– At 9 pm, “O Fado Salão,” will take place at the Baltazar Dias Theatre, with Filipe Passos, Miguel Marques, Mikolaj Lewkovicz, Hugo Andrade, Alberto Trindade, Maria João Viana and special guest José Manuel Neto, who will play Portuguese guitar.
