The new Mayor of Funchal, Pedro Calado, wasted no time this morning, and began his first day in office at 7:45 this morning by visiting the Funchal’s Bombeiros Sapadores (BVM) barracks, stating that he wants to go out into the field and “present solutions” as soon as possible.
He went on to say:-
“We made a point of starting our mandate with our fire brigade, who defend the city and protect our population. Furthermore, in terms of work it starts now, and I want to go out into the field to see what needs to be done, and start cementing our commitments within the community. Next week, I want us to start presenting solutions to some of the problems that we have already identified.”
