Here is a list of road works that are taking place this week in Funchal.
22nd of September – 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, parking is prohibited in Largo do Socorro (south side), in the parish of Santa Maria Maior, due to tree pruning.
23rd September– 10:00 am and 5:00 pm, road traffic and parking on Rua Padre Gonçalves da Câmara, in the parish of Sé, will be interrupted due to tree pruning.
25th September – 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, it is necessary to interrupt the car traffic on Rua do Hospital Velho (Santa Maria Maior), the section between Largo dos Lavradores and Travessa da Infância – due to concreting works. During the intervention, Travessa da Infância will operate in both traffic directions through Rua da Infância, in order to guarantee access to the garages.
Estrada Monumental – following the contract for ‘Control and monitoring of the water networks associated with the existing remote management system in the Municipality of Funchal – 2nd phase’, work under the responsibility of AdF – Águas do Funchal, it is necessary to extend the road conditioning on Estrada Monumental (São Martinho), section between Rua Ponta da Cruz and Travessa da Quinta Calaça, until 30 October 2021.
Funchal City Council also informs that Rua Nova da Levada do Cavalo, in the parish of São Pedro, reopened this week to traffic on a temporary and conditional basis, after the completion of the respective intervention to replace water and sanitation networks . The street will be completely retarmacked at the beginning of next October, as planned for operational reasons, at which time circulation will have to be interrupted again for two to three days.
