SPAD – The Society for the Protection of Domestic Animals, has reached out through their social media pages to advise everyone that two people are pretending to collect donations for SPAD on the streets of Funchal.
This, say the organisation, is something that they never do, as any outside fundraising is always run in conjunction with one of their animal adoption days. Therefore, they advise anyone who is approached by either person, even if they say they are collecting on behalf of SPAD, to refuse to give any money and to inform the Public Security Police immediately.
