Public Golf Facilities at Quinta Magnolia

At a cost of €100,000 and built in seventy-five days, Quinta Magnolia, Funchal, now has a new putting green and driving range aimed at improving the image of the sport, as well as increasing its popularity among ‘all’ Madeirans.

Addressing golfers and journalists alike, the President of Madeira, Miguel Albuquerque said ‘the new facilities will help remove the stigma surrounding golf, as well as increase its popularity among young people, by giving them the chance to practice in a central facility.’  He further went on to say that the facilities are for ‘everyone!’

Director of Santo da Serra Golf Club, Ricardo Abreu, thanked the Regional Government in their provision and investment in the sport, saying that the new facilities will provide all golfers with a chance to improve their technique and training, as well as allowing those curious about the sport to practice in a professional environment in the centre of Funchal.
