The president of the Popular Monarchist Party (PPM), Gonçalo da Câmara Pereira, will pay a three day visit Madeira on the 14th, 15th and 16th of July, in order to boost the party’s profile on the island as well as present several PPM candidates for the 2021 municipal elections.
In a busy schedule, PPM candidate António Melim, will visit Porto Santo on the 16th, while the President of the PPM will visit the “Fundação Princesa Dona Maria Amélia’ in Funchal and then travel to Monte where he will lay a small tribute wreath at the tomb of Charles the 1st, Emperor of Austria at the Igreja do Monte.
The Popular Monarchist Party was founded on the 23rd of May 1974, as a direct protest against the ‘Estado Novo’ (New State).
