After months of reduced hours and salary uncertainty, employees from the Café do Teatro group have issued a video showing about a dozen completely empty nightlife venues, saying that it is time for the Madeiran authorities to extend bar opening hours to increase revenue, and allow for the payment of salaries.
Today Madeira had 14 positive Covid-19 cases, and with the figures approaching the all important 20 Covid-19 cases a day average, hospitality employees are putting pressure on the health authorities to honour their promise of progressive economic re-opening when figures stabilised at a certain level.
