The body of a man, already in an advanced state of decomposition, was removed yesterday from the slope of Fajã dos Padres.
The rescue was carried out through the collaboration of several emergency services, including the Regional Civil Protection Service, GNR, PSP and the Judiciary Police. The Volunteer Firefighters of Câmara de Lobos were still called to the site, but taking into account the state of the body they returned back to base.
It is thought that the body has been in situ for nearly two months.
