This Christmas, for the fourth consecutive year, 14 participating pharmacies in Madeira are taking part in the ‘Give Change to Those Who Need It’ charity campaign.
From the 14th to the 22nd of December, everyone will have the opportunity to donate their change from purchases made in participating pharmacies to ‘Emergencia abem: COVID-19.’ All donations received will be used to provide medicines, services and health products to those who have been affected by the pandemic.
Since it was launched in March this year, Emergência abem : COVID-19 has supported more than 900 individuals referred by Municipal Councils, Parish Councils, Private Institutions of Social Solidarity, Caritas and Misericórdias.
The fourteen participating pharmacies support some 941 Madeiran beneficiaries who can access free prescriptions, and since the 25th of May 2016, 40,888 packets of prescription drugs have been administered under the scheme.
In addition to the participating campaign it is also possible to support this initiative at any time, through:
– Bank transfer to IBAN: PT50 0036 0000 9910 5930 0855 9
– Via MBWAY: 932 440 068
Donors can send proof of transfer, name and TIN to geral@dignitude.org, in order to receive their donation receipt.
