We Are Under An Orange Weather Warning

With the worsening weather conditions, the Madeira archipelago is under orange warning for sea agitation, strong winds and rain due to storm ‘Clement,’ said the Regional Civil Protection Service, warning that the effects of the storm will continue until Wednesday.

During this period, heavy rain showers are forecast, accompanied by thunderstorms, as well winds from the southwest, with gusts expected to reach 115 kilometers / hour in the mountainous regions.

Waves are expected to reach a maximum height of 12 metres on the north coast and eight metres along the south coast.

According to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA), storm ‘Clement’ formed on the 27th of November in the northwest of the Iberian Peninsula and its effects will be felt essentially in the Madeira archipelago until the middle of the week.
