The Portuguese Institute of Atmosphere and Sea (IPMA) has issued a forecast saying that strong winds will affect the island tomorrow and Thursday. Due to the drop in temperatures, there may be a light dusting of snow on Madeira’s peaks.
Winds are likely to reach 70 km/h on the southwest coast, increasing to 90 km/h in mountainous regions. Temperatures are also expected to drop to 12 -13 degrees.
It should also be noted that the wind will affect the waves on the north coast of the island, with waves expected to reach 5 to 6 metres, but there is the possibility that these could increase to 10m.
