On the 6th of October, the President of Madeira, Miguel Albuquerque unveiled the design of Câmara de Lobos’s new Municipal Football Stadium, which will be built on the Ribeiro Real site. The project, costing five million euros, will be built primarily on land owned by the Regional Government, and work should start next year. However, there are technical issues over the sites access, which the President believes will be overcome by creating a construction entry point from the Via Rapida.
Concluding, Miguel Albuquerque believes that the money will be very well spent as it will increase the sporting facilities within the municipality.
