Madeiran Roads are Exemplary

In a statement, the Regional Secretary for Equipment and Infrastructure, Pedro Fino stated that Madeira’s roads are exemplary in terms of planning, financing, construction, modernisation, and maintenance, thus allowing for the “safe and rational” flow of traffic.

While talking to 30 members of the Slovenian Road Association, from North-East Slovenia, he admitted that Madeira’s rugged terrain has always been a major mobility obstacle for the islanders.  However, over the last two decades, there has been an extraordinary effort to build new road infrastructures, taking into account the natural challenges, which is turn has created a network of roads, tunnels and bridges, bringing about radical accessibility changes for the island’s population.
