Government Donates Hay to Riding Stables

The Regional Secretary for Agriculture and Rural Development visited the Associação Hípica da Madeira (Madeira Equestrian Association) this week, as the Regional Government arranged for the delivery of 770 bales of hay and horse feed as a way to minimise the impact that the pandemic has had on the stables.  The stables, a non-profit organisation currently has 10 horses, a pony and a donkey, and undertakes a wide range of activities including riding lessons and hippotherapy, for young people with special needs. They play an important role within the community as they provide many school children with the opportunity to ride as party of their summer activity schedule thus allowing them a chance to meet and interact with these beautiful creatures.

Within the scope of support measures granted to the rural sector, the Regional Government also provided Quinta do Riacho, a trekking company located in Santo da Serra, with 370 bales of hay and horse feed.

A massive thank you from all the horse owners and riders of the association and particularly the HORSES.
