Free Covid-19 tests, guaranteed quarantine costs, surveillance, certification and unforgettable experiences are some of the arguments that the traveldailymedia TD platform is promoting for those interested in visiting Madeira.
The website is aimed at travel industry professionals from around the world and in an article published today highlights Madeira as a pioneer in the development of good practices for dealing with Covid-19, measures that “will provide comfort and confidence to those who visit Madeira and, ultimately, will benefit everyone. ”
Madeira and the surrounding islands, the platform states, offers a wide range of tourist activities including Levada walking, a range of ocean exploring activities, tourist spots not to mention a wide selection of bars and restaurants where one can relax and watch the world go by while complying with local health and safety protocols such as social distancing, proper hygiene and the use of face masks.
The TD also addresses the work on certification by the SGS Portugal – Sociedade Geral de Superintendência, S.A, in the management of biological risks, and the ‘Clean & Safe’ seal of Turismo de Portugal, explaining the main security procedures implemented in the archipelago include the provision of a free Covid-19 test on arrival at the airport and monitoring through the ‘Madeira Safe to Discover’ application. They conclude by saying that “Although confinement is not mandatory for those tested on arrival, and who will be informed of the results within 12 hours, it is recommended that travellers stay in their accommodation until they receive their results, adding that passengers who test positive and those associated with them will be quarantined at a designated hotel which will be paid for by the regional government.”
