Vaccinated Man Develops Covid

An elderly man who was vaccinated with the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine, has been admitted to the  Covid-19 Multipurpose Unit of Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça.  According to a hospital source, the senior citizen was vaccinated on the 12th of January 12th with the first dose of Pfizer vaccine, after being admitted to a residential home in Funchal three days earlier.

Man Flees Hospital

Sixty-one-year old, José Arlindo Jesus Andrade from Camacha, has been missing since this morning, after he fled from the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital hours before undergoing emergency surgery.

Fisherman Rescued

The Navy, in conjunction with the Funchal Maritime Search and Rescue coordination sub-centre, the captain of the Port of Funchal and the Regional Civil Protection Service, this morning rescued a crew member from a fishing vessel located 8 nautical miles south of Câmara de Lobos. According to the Navy the victim, a 57-year-old man, had deep cuts to his face made by a hook.
