Electricity Discount Discussed

During a meeting at the Assembly of the Republic today, PSD deputy to the Assembly, Paulo Neves, demanded that the Minister of the Environment and the Government of the Republic, include Madeiran as part of the Environmental Fund electricity discount scheme, saying that it was wrong to exclude those living in Madeira and Porto Santo, especially as social confinement has meant an increased demand for electricity. 

Madeira Will Not be Used to Circumvent Travel Restrictions

The President of the Government of Madeira, Miguel Albuquerque, stated on the 2nd of February that he did not believe that the regions airports, which still maintain links with the outside world, will be used to circumvent travel restrictions imposed by the new state of emergency.

Portugal – Enters ‘State of Contingency’ in Mid September

During the meeting of the Council of Ministers, this morning (27.08) it was decided and later announced by the Minister of the Presidency Mariana Vieira da Silva,  that from the 15th of September  the whole country will return to a 'State of Contingency.' The objective, according to the minister, is to "prepare for the return to school and work" for many Portuguese citizens."
