70 Historic Buildings Restored

Since 2014, the Funchal City Council (CMF), has initiated and developed an Urban Rehabilitation programme of seventy of Funchal's Historic Centre buildings called "Cidade ComVida." This project covers an Urban Rehabilitation Area (ARU) of 1.13 km2 in Funchal's 'Historic district.

Madeira Will Not be Used to Circumvent Travel Restrictions

The President of the Government of Madeira, Miguel Albuquerque, stated on the 2nd of February that he did not believe that the regions airports, which still maintain links with the outside world, will be used to circumvent travel restrictions imposed by the new state of emergency.

Vaccine Will Not be Misused!

Whether it was the sudden accounting error that misled everyone into believing that 17,500 vaccines had arrived on the island this week, but Miguel Albuquerque stated today, that he hopes that in Madeira, the vaccine will not be misused.  However, when questioned by reporters, he said he had more important things to worry about!

Parking Problems

Call it overzealous, but someone's parking skills went a little awry this afternoon. The incident occurred when a vehicle mounted a boundary wall, and ended on top of another car at the Amércia building carpark in Caminho do Amparo.
