After the terror and anguish experienced in Israel, Madeiran Micaela Lopes is finally safe.
Micas, as she is affectionately called by her family, is accompanied by her two children, and was part of the 152 Portuguese and Portuguese-Israelis who landed yesterday morning at Figo Maduro airport in Cyprus, where they were safely waiting for the flight to Portugal after being removed from Tel Aviv by the Portuguese Air Force plane.
Micaela Lopes who lives near the Gaza border, a critical area in the war between Israel and Hamas was born in Camacha. Returning to Madeira yesterday she is accompanied by her two children while her husband remains in Israel.
