Cherry Crop in Ruins

One of the headlines this morning is that the recent rains and those yet to come will decimate the islands’ cherry crop this year.  So far, it is believed that 70% of the 2023 harvest will be lost.

Speaking briefly, Agriculture Secretary, Humberto Vasconcelos stated that they are already putting together a compensation scheme for affected farmers.
