Final Mask Restrictions Dropped – But With Exceptions

As the Regional Secretary of Health and Civil Protection, Pedro Ramos, announced on the 9th of March to JM and RTP, the use of face masks is no longer mandatory in hospitals and health centres, except in exceptional circumstances.

Throughout the common areas of the Health Service of the Autonomous Region of Madeira, face masks are no longer mandatory.  However, they are recommended for patient visits.

With regard to care homes, the Regional Secretary for Health and Civil Protection told JM today, mask wearing is not mandatory, but if any visitor has any cold or flu-like symptoms they must wear a mask to protect their family and those around them.
