The body of a man was found in the Ribeiro Seco River, Funchal this afternoon.
Reporting on the incident, local newspaper, JM, confirmed that the man’s body had been spotted by a couple as they walked across the Ribeiro Seco bridge. The body, which is already in an advanced state of decomposition was quickly retrieved by firefighters.
Although it was originally surmised that the man may have fallen from the bridge, this seems to have been ruled out. However, the authorities have yet to identify the cause of death.
