CMF Urbanisation official, João Rodrigues, argued this weekend that the municipality has a moral obligation to purchase old degraded buildings within the city, to either renovate or contract the renovation project out to individuals/companies that specialise in this type of work.
He went on to say that this solution has legal support within the Urban Rehabilitation Areas, and would be a way to overcome heir disputes linked to abandoned and derelict properties.
