New Walking Routes By End of Year

The Regional Government, through the Institute of Forests and Nature Conservation (IFCN), has announced to all citizens, tour operators and mountain guides that, by the end of this year, the Rabaçal Trail network will be completed and, at the same time, a series of alternative trails will be promoted.

The IFCN has provided the restoration of several trails, especially the Rabaçal Trail Network, which will lead to a greater number of recommended trails in the Region. In order to make known what is being done, the IFCN has already met with entities that are representative in the Tourism sector, clarifying what has been restored and routes that can be used due to new improved safety measures.  However, for the time being tour operators are being asked to consider alternative routes to provide a better hiking/nature experience.

Currently, it is not possible to promote the trails, as work is still in progress and the complete network of walks is not yet finished.
