The Health Administration Institute (IAS) of Madeira, this year issued 90 new reimbursement medical consultation cards for pensioners and employees who earn below the regions minimum wage.
In a statement, the Regional Secretary for Health and Civil Protection, Pedro Ramos confirmed that to date, 90 new cards were issued and 988 renewals were carried out, an increase on last year’s 66 new cards and 979 renewals.
The Special Reimbursement Card is a measure of the Government of Madeira (PSD/CDS-PP) that benefits eligible users with a reimbursement of between 20 and 23 euros with regards to health expenses related to doctor’s appointments.
Last year, 4,185 consultations from A-level users (pensioners with a pension below the regional minimum wage) and six from people in B-level (employed workers with a salary below the regional minimum wage) were reimbursed, according to the executive. Madeiran.
The Special Reimbursement Card is free of charge and is valid for one year, and can be renewed and requested at the services of the Health Administration Institute of Madeira.
