  Bolt and TáxisRAM Announce Partnership

Bolt and TáxisRAM have reached an agreement for a pilot project that will bring together the Estonian multimodal operator, and the largest Madeira taxi association, in an initiative that aims to boost the island transport sector.

To encourage Madeirans to take full advantage of this partnership, discount offers will be available during the first two months. Bolt is also preparing a special campaign for new users at Funchal airport, which will start in August.

In a statement, Nuno Inácio, Bolt’s Ride-hailing manager in Portugal, said:

“We will have 50 associated taxis by the beginning of August. We truly believe that this synergy with TáxisRAM will only bring benefits to all parties involved. As a mobility platform, we are very excited about the prospects that this first step opens up, and we hope that this is just the beginning of a fruitful collaboration.”

For his part, Paulo Pereira, President of TáxisRAM, stated, “this agreement between Bolt and Associação TáxisRAM will be an important initiative to boost the passenger transport sector in the Autonomous Region of Madeira, allowing the optimisation of resources by combining the traditional practice of professional taxi practice with the new forms associated with online platforms. It will be possible to efficiently coordinate the drivers of these two modalities, not only increasing the availability of these services in the Region, but consequently also reducing waiting times.”

It should be noted that Bolt started operating in Portugal in 2018. Currently, its TVDE service already covers the entire national territory.
