‘Discovering ROVs’ At MadeiraShopping

Between the 5th and 10th of July, MadeiraShopping will host the “Discovering ROVs” exhibition, organised by the Madeira Oceanic Observatory (OOM)/ARDITI, within the scope of the ROV4ALL project.

The exhibition presents ROVs ( Remotely Operated Vehicles ), and is part of the “ROV4ALL – Construction of underwater robots in a school context project,” an ocean literacy project developed by OOM during the last two academic years in schools in the Azores, Algarve, Lisbon and Madeira.

The project consisted of creating educational kits that were supplied to school groups who then built their own ROVs. In this exhibition, in addition to roll-ups with informative content about this type of vehicle, the Madeira students ROVs will also be on display.

The ROV4ALL project is financed by the Blue Fund of the Directorate-General for Maritime Policy (Ministry of Economy and the Sea), is promoted by ARDITI – Regional Agency for the Development of Research, Technology and Innovation/Ocean Observatory of Madeira and as partners Instituto do Mar, Observatório do Mar dos Açores, Centro de Ciência Viva de Tavira, Instituto Português do Mar e da Atmosphere, Instituto Superior Técnico/Institute of Systems and Robotics, Instituto para a Qualificação/Escola Profissional Francisco Fernandes and the collaboration of Francisco Franco Secondary School.
