A disagreement in the early hours of Saturday morning lead to a shooting incident at a bar in Camacha.
As far as local newspaper, JM, could report, no one was injured in the incident, but it would appear that an argument involving a prison guard got out of hand, resulting in the prison official going to his car and retrieving a firearm. On returning to the bar he fired two shots, with one hitting a wall.
The man was quickly grabbed by the bars patrons, and the police were immediately called in to assist. In fact, both officers from the Public Security Police (PSP) and the Judicial Police (PJ), quickly arrived at the scene, arrested the shooter, who was then taken to the Santa Cruz Police Station.
Although, his case was presented at the Ponta do Sol Court this morning, the court, who only had weekend cover was already overwhelmed, and it is believed that the shooter’s case will only be officially heard tomorrow morning.
