SEF To Contact British Citizens Living in Madeira

As of today, the Foreigners and Borders Service (SEF), has started notifying British citizens living in the Autonomous regions of Madeira and the Azores, to schedule an appointment to start their new biometric resident card process.

All British citizens will be contacted by email and asked to make an appointment through the relevant site  (sef.pt), and will take place at the Loja do Cidadão, Funchal.  Furthermore, all appointments will be made in original application order.

Please note, that the QR code ‘Certificado de Pedio de Título de Residência,’ will remain in effect and valid in Portugal until your new biometric card is issued.

Current European Union residence documents also continue to be accepted for travel purposes, as long as they are within their validity period.
