Covid-19 Outbreaks on Ships Causes Havoc

Last night it was confirmed that the the directors of the cruise liner ‘Ventura’ had cancelled their stopover in Madeira, which was scheduled for today, due to an outbreak of Covid-19.

Furthermore, twelve passengers from one of the ships docked yesterday in the port of Funchal were left behind after testing positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The passengers were taken to a SESARAM  quarantine hotel unit.

Another outbreak occurred on another ship, where thirty-five people tested positive.  The ships captain took the decision not to remain in the region, and continue the ships confinement process at sea.
