Curfew Remains in Place

Despite the easing of restrictions, the current curfew from 1 am to 5 am is in place, although, many may not think so while walking through the Old Town of Funchal.

During the inauguration of a local accommodation unit in Paul do Mar, the President of Madeira, Miguel Albuquerque, categorically stated that he will not be following the national trend of easing restrictive measures. In his address, he said that ‘the current curfew will remain in place!” He went on to say that he is concerned about the number of public gatherings that are beginning to form, especially in Porto Santo, where one businessman has been fined for not complying with current health and safety measures.

We may be doing OK, but the pandemic is far from over!
