Covid Self Testing Will Be Controlled

The President of the Regional Government, Miguel Albuquerque, believes that the rapid antigen tests will be a good tool in the fight against Covid-19, but stressed that this solution will have to be strictly monitored.

In a statement he said “At the beginning of next week, we will have a meeting with our Health team, to see how we are going to do it, because this system must be controlled, otherwise, the numbers of positive cases could rise, and a third wave occur, if people fake their test results. We must ensure adequate control.”

He concluded by saying “I will not allow people to abuse the system, so everything will be monitored, and we will obviously take advantage of this opportunity, but it must always be supervised by competent entities.”

Unfortunately, he did not say how these new tests would be controlled, although testing in pharmacies under the guidance of a dedicated pharmacist would be an ideal and convenient solution.
